Crypto casino and documents: why the exchange has already verified you

When you withdraw · euros, exchange, wallet and casino

Plenty of people look for a casino without ID believing crypto is anonymous. On the usual route it is not: to buy crypto with euros in Spain you go through an exchange that asks for a DNI, a NIE or a passport. That is not a problem, but it changes which privacy a crypto casino really gives you, and which it does not.

At a crypto casino without ID the money almost always makes four stops: your bank, an exchange, sometimes your own wallet and, at the end, the casino's deposit address. The papers turn up at a stop many people forget.

The money takes a detour: euros to an exchange, crypto to the casino's address. Same coin and same network the whole way.

The stop that already asks for papers: the exchange

To turn euros into crypto in Spain you use an exchange. Every one operating lawfully will have you verify your identity before it lets you buy: a photo of a DNI, NIE or passport, often a selfie and, for larger amounts, information about where the money came from.

That carries two practical consequences:

  1. Your identity is already in the payment chain before the casino comes into it. If the casino asks you for papers, it is not asking for something nobody holds; it is simply asking too.
  2. Foreign residents go through the same thing at the exchange. If you managed to verify your exchange account with a TIE or a passport, you will manage the casino's with the same document. We cover it in foreign residents: NIE, TIE and passport.

Which privacy a crypto casino really gives you

If it does not give you anonymity, what does it give you? Three concrete things:

  • Sign-up by email. You do not leave your document on the way in; if you leave it at all, it is later and only when asked.
  • No banking details at the casino. The casino never sees your IBAN or your card; it sees a wallet address.
  • No charge in its name on your bank statement. What appears there is the exchange, not the casino.

And two things it does not give you:

  • It does not avoid verification. Every casino on our list keeps the right to ask for papers before paying.
  • It does not erase the trail. On-chain transactions are public and the exchange knows who you are.

Depositing without trouble: coin and network

Most «held» withdrawals at crypto casinos are about the network, not the ID. A few basic rules:

  • Same coin and same network the whole way. If the casino gives you a USDT address on the Tron network (TRC-20), send USDT over Tron from the exchange. Sending over another network can lose the deposit.
  • Check the minimum per network. An old table from the Vave help centre, dated September 2023, listed 3 USDT on Solana, 5 USDT on TRC-20 and 19.99 USDT on ERC-20. Minimums change: look at the cashier's before sending.
  • Send a small amount first. One small test transfer confirms the address and the network are right.

Withdrawing: back to the exchange

On the way out the route runs backwards. Withdraw to an address of your own, in the same coin and on the same network, and check the minimum withdrawal. If the money goes back to an exchange to become euros, remember the exchange has already verified you and may ask where the funds came from. Keep the casino's history: it will save you time if they do.

Two mistakes that trigger reviews at a casino, ID or no ID:

  • Withdrawing to an address other than the deposit one, especially if it belongs to someone else.
  • Depositing and withdrawing with almost no play. Vave, for instance, requires the deposit to be turned over three times before it can leave (clause 8.11).

A small withdrawal first. If it lands with no papers, you know something about the casino; if papers are demanded, you learn it before much is at stake.

Wild Fortune and bitcoin: the exception

One specific warning. Wild Fortune requires bitcoin players to hold a valid identity document before play: deposits and bets are blocked until verification is done (clause 18.1). If your plan is a casino without ID and bitcoin, this one does not fit. It is on the turn board with its three points and the expiry date of its licence.

In short

Crypto saves you giving the casino your banking details, not giving it your identity. If what worries you is what a casino does with your document, the answer is not hunting for an «anonymous» coin but sending the document only when it is asked for, only from your own account, and only to a casino whose licence you have checked. We set out how in what they do with your ID and in withdrawing without an ID.

Questions readers ask

Does paying with crypto stop a casino asking for my ID?
No. The crypto casinos on our list keep the right to ask for papers before paying, like any other. What changes is that sign-up is usually by email and that you never hand the casino your banking details.
Does the exchange ask for an ID to buy crypto?
Yes. Any exchange operating lawfully will have you verify your identity with a DNI, NIE or passport before it lets you buy with euros.
Which coin is best for a crypto casino?
The one you understand and whose network the casino takes with low fees. USDT on networks like Tron or Solana is the most used for play because its value tracks the dollar; bitcoin carries higher fees and longer waits.
