Signing up without an ID: what crypto casinos ask when you open the account

Before you sign up · an email, a password and little else

At almost every crypto casino, opening the account is a matter of an email and a password. That is what people mean by signing up without an ID. Here is what each casino asks for at the counter, what is worth filling in properly even when nobody checks, and the exceptions that demand a document before play.

Signing up is the easy part of a casino without ID. At the crypto casinos on our list, the form at the counter has much the same boxes everywhere, and none of them is for uploading a document.

At almost every crypto casino the sign-up form asks for an email and a password. The paper is not demanded on the way in: it is demanded on the way out.

What the form asks for

The usual set at a crypto casino:

Some add a date of birth or a country of residence. Very few ask for a phone number at the first step. None of the casinos on our board asks you to upload a document to open the account, apart from the Wild Fortune bitcoin case, which we come to below.

Vave lobby with the sign-up form open
At Vave you sign up with an email and a password, uploading nothing. If a verification comes, it comes later, at the cashier, under clause 8.7 of its terms.

At Vave, for instance, the counter takes an email and a password. Verification, if it comes, comes at the cashier, under clause 8.7 of its terms. We opened our account that way and collected two withdrawals without anyone asking for anything.

What is worth filling in properly even when nobody checks

Signing up without an ID has a catch: because nothing is checked at the start, it is easy to leave the profile half-finished or full of jokes. The problem arrives on the day of the withdrawal.

If a casino asks you for papers, the first thing it will do is compare the document with the profile. The first name, the surnames and the date of birth have to match. If they do not, the withdrawal sits on hold while you sort it out, and in the worst case the account is closed for false details, something every set of terms we have read forbids.

So we suggest:

  1. Your full real name, exactly as it appears on the document you would use: if your passport carries two surnames, put both.
  2. Your real date of birth.
  3. Your real country of residence. And if Spain is on the casino's excluded-country list, better to learn it now than after depositing.
  4. Your real address, if it is requested: it has to match the proof of address you would send.

The exceptions: casinos that ask for a document first

Not every crypto casino lets you play without a document. Three distinctions on our list are worth knowing.

Wild Fortune requires bitcoin players to hold a valid identity document before play. Deposits and bets are blocked until verification is done (clause 18.1). If your plan is signing up without an ID and playing with bitcoin, this is not your casino.

Bitcasino.io keeps the right to verify at any moment, the first deposit included. It does not always do so, but it has written it down.

Rakebit asks for papers at the first withdrawal, but its KYC policy adds that a payment provider may require verification before a first deposit of less than $2,000. It is a rare case, and it depends on the payment method.

From sign-up to first deposit: three checks

Once inside, before any money moves, three things can be looked at at no risk:

  1. The cashier. Which coins and which networks it takes, and the minimum on each. If your coin or your network is missing, do not send.
  2. The verification clause. In the terms, under account or withdrawals. Write down the number. We show you how to find it in what papers they ask for.
  3. The licence. Look the domain up in the register. Two minutes, with screenshots, in checking a licence.
TrustDice lobby with the cashier open
TrustDice is the second casino where we opened a real account: we walked through the sign-up and the cashier, without reaching a withdrawal.

At TrustDice, the other casino where we opened a real account, we walked through the sign-up and the cashier without uploading a single document. What we could not do was read its terms live, and that is why it holds only the licence point on the board.

Signing up without an ID is not withdrawing without one

The two should not be confused. That the counter takes an email tells you nothing about what happens when you withdraw. Every casino on the list keeps the right to ask for papers before paying. To see what each one says and what usually triggers the request, carry on to withdrawing without an ID.

And if you hold no Spanish DNI because you are a foreign resident, sign-up works exactly the same: email and password. The difference comes at verification, and what to upload is in foreign residents: NIE, TIE and passport.

One account per person

Every set of terms we have read says the same thing: one account per person, opened with your own details. Opening a second account to take the welcome bonus again, or registering a relative so you can play, is grounds for closure and for the balance to be held. Nor will we help anyone sign up with somebody else's details or papers. Signing up without an ID is a convenience, not a way of being someone else.

Questions readers ask

Can I sign up at a casino without an ID?
Yes, at most crypto casinos licensed in Curaçao or Anjouan: the form takes an email and a password. Verification, if it comes, comes later, normally at the withdrawal.
Which casino asks for an ID at sign-up?
On our list, Wild Fortune demands a document before play if you use bitcoin (clause 18.1), and Bitcasino.io keeps the right to verify at any moment, the first deposit included. Rakebit may ask before a first deposit if a payment provider requires it.
Can I use a false name when signing up?
You can type whatever you like, but if papers are demanded later, the name and date of birth on the profile have to match the document. An invented profile is the fastest way to have a withdrawal held or an account closed.
